It is experience and history, it’s feeling and fact, it’s spirit and truth, or it’s not Christianity.- John Piper

Habitual sins cannot be broken with willpower. God would receive no glory in that. Only as the sovereign wind of the Holy Spirit moves in our heart to give us a higher joy in God than we formerly had in sin do we start to see the bonds that once held us broken.
Matthew 22:35-40
And one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question to test him. “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”
The second commandment is like the first in that we should seek the same good for others that we seek for ourselves, and the highest and best good we can seek for ourselves can only be found in God. Of all the things that can be done in the name of love for our neighbor this thing matters most, that our neighbor, along with us, would love God with all his heart, soul and mind. All our good deeds, all our acts of kindness, and all our acts of charity should have this as an ultimate goal. To help our neighbor treasure Christ glorifies God and is the most loving thing we can do.
When you here the term “Irresistible Grace” don’t picture being strong-armed into being a Christian as many do. But instead envision “Omnipotent Beauty” beauty that overpowers the dead human heart and corrupt will. If you are a Christian it is because the Holy Spirit in His grace awakened you to the beauty of Jesus Christ. To God be all the glory.
Ephesians 4:29
Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.
Our speech should not corrupt ourselves or others. It should build up, be timely and of most importance, give grace to all who hear.
